Library Collections
- Over 500 copies of reading materials (English and Chinese).
- Over 100 VCR tapes (English and Chinese).
- Over 400 cassettes (English and Chinese).
- Lots of books to be given away (English and Chinese).
Borrowing Regulations
- Only OUBA current members are eligible to borrow books and other materials from the OUBA Library.
- All borrowers are expected to have a current address and telephone number on file. Please report any changes in address to any OUBA Governing Committee members.
- Borrowing privileges are not transferable.
- All materials checked out can be recalled and must be returned by the specified date.
- Borrowers are responsible for materials checked-out until they are returned to the library.
- All materials to be charged or returned must be presented to a OUBA Governing Committee member or the librarian.
Loan Periods and Limits
- To insure the library has an adequate supply of materials for all members, only two items are allowed to be checked-out at one time.
- Books are allowed for a two-week-loan period.
- VCR tapes and cassettes are allowed for a one-week-loan period.
- Periodicals and reference books are for in-library use only.
Renewal Policies
- Renewals may be made provided that no one else has requested for the materials.
- All materials may be renewed for up to five times.
- No telephone renewal are allowed.
- All materials to be renewed must be brought to the library for renewals.
Recall Policies
- Materials requested by another member are subjected for recall one week from the date of checkout, or on the due date, if earlier.
- Prompt response to recall notices will help make more materials available for other members.
- Members will be notified for materials being reserved for him/her.
- Requested materials must be picked up within one week from the date of notification.
- Recalls are based on first come first serve basis.
Fines and Lost Books
- Late fees will not be formally collected for material overdues that are less than a month. However, members are encouraged to deposit the late fees (voluntary amount) in the donation box.
- If members fail to return the materials after two reminders or after one month (whichever comes first), they will be charged the full costs of the materials and their borrowing privileges temporary suspended until the full payments are made. These payments will include the reacquisition charges and processing fees.
General Regulation
Please be considerate of your fellow members in using the materials. Do not tear or write on the materials.
